Zorgvliet’s Stellenbosch wine cellar

The Zorgvliet Stellenbosch wine cellar was designed according to specifics such as minimal mechanical intervention and incorporating a unique element such as the slope of the land being used to employ a gravity fed system.

Other unique features that the Stellenbosch wine cellar has include computerised systems monitoring the cellar operations 24 hours a day. A live feed from the Stellenbosch wine cellar allows the winemaking team full access and control of the cellar from any internet point in the world. Additional quality control systems have also been adopted such as sorting tables where bunch and berry sorting takes place. Conveyors ferry the already sorted berries to their fermentation vessels where the crushing process takes place directly above the tank, ensuring a minimum oxidation period. You can see all this first hand when you embark on the Stellenbosch wine cellar tours.

Other than being a state of the art wine facility, the Zorgvliet Stellenbosch wine cellar is also home to the Zorgvliet wines. The Zorgvliet wines produced in the Stellenbosch wine cellar have received high acclaim e.g. the Zorgvliet Sauvignon Blanc 2007 which received a Double Gold medal at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards 2007.

Zorgvliet Sauvignon Blanc 2007’s tasting notes are as follows:
