Zorgvliet Amazing Race
The concept is based on the TV programme Amazing Race. Teams race against each other completing tasks along the way. Every task has a point allocation that is either added or subtracted from the team’s total.
Your Programme
Start the day at Zorgvliet with a fun Ice Breaker and a short briefing. We will hand out starter packs with information and objects essential for the race. (Drinks and snacks are also included in the starter packs). We will divide the group into teams before we start the race.
The race takes place on the historical Zorgvliet Wine Estate where teams will make use of a map to find different clues in historical places of interest around the estate. There will also be problem solving and teambuilding activities plus a surprise “fear factor” item included in the race. While performing all these activities and challenges, you will explore the beautiful estate and learn about its history while enjoying the majestic scenery of the Banhoek Valley and Drakenstein Mountains.
There will also be a bonus station on the map that is not a compulsory stop, but you will get bonus points if you have time to reach this station. For the bonus station, only 2 team members have to reach the point while the rest of the team wait or rest.
The distance covered during the race will depend on the skill and the route chosen by the individual teams. The shortest route between all the stations (including the bonus station) is approximately 4km.
The tempo of the race will depend on the pace of the teams. The team must stick together at all times to avoid disqualification (with the exception of the bonus station). An average level of fitness is required to complete the race. (If you can walk 4 km in 2 ½ to 3 hours, you can do this!) For the fit individuals in the team, there are always the bonus points to go for.
All teams have to reach the finishing point (shown on the map) at a specified time indicated on day, regardless of the number of stations reached.
The race is followed by time to relax while enjoying lunch (optional) and discussing the day’s ordeals! (A Cash Bar will be available). A prize giving ceremony will take place after lunch to conclude the proceedings.

- R 595.00 pp (excluding lunch)
- R 695.00 pp (including lunch)
Lunch consists of either a Braai or a Picnic Basket, which includes a main meal and a dessert.
